My Story

Education - As a teenager, I had average grades in school and no sense of what I wanted to do with my life, but that all changed when I went to college. I discovered business, economics, and the financial markets, and was hooked! I graduated near the top of my college class, earned an MBA from Cornell University, and then earned the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation.

Business Career - Early in my career, I thought I wanted to work on Wall Street as an equity analyst. However, after doing this job at a few top firms, I quickly realized that it wasn’t for me. While I was good at the job, I found it boring. I was briefly lost, not knowing what I wanted to do next… Until I found the world of young, entrepreneurial software companies. And THAT was when it all clicked! People working together to build something great and new; people full of energy and excitement and creativity! I was very good as the finance partner to everyone in the business - particularly the marketing and sales teams and the tech teams. I helped people truly understand the business model and the metrics that mattered in driving the business toward success. Over time, I eventually became the Chief Financial Officer, where I worked with the CEOs and Boards of Directors of a few companies to craft business strategies and worked with the teams in the company to execute upon our goals. It was amazing!

YouTube - There is huge demand on YouTube for information about personal finance and entrepreneurship. People all want freedom, but the problem holding them back is money. Few are interested in getting rich just to be rich - they want money so they can FINALLY live without stress, and live the way they want. I’m attempting to help by offering my expertise through videos on personal finance and entrepreneurship. With every video I put on YouTube, I am keenly aware that there are thousands of real people on the other side of the screen watching and listening, and I hold myself to a high standard of integrity for all I say and do. I hope I’m able to help.

For Fun - At the age of 51, I finally accomplished a life-long goal, which I had put off since I was a teen. I earned a pilot’s license. It was everything I dreamed it would be, a truly amazing experience. I describe it as being so much fun that I can’t believe it’s legal! After getting the initial license, I then earned the Instrument Rating and a Commercial Pilot Certificate. The capstone, so far, was flying across the country and back - twice - in a small plane.
